Bridal Boudoir

I know that boudoir sessions generally have a certain stigmatism with them. But I would love to show my bridal boudoir, which are classy and timeless. Normally I don’t have a lot of images to show, due to the sensitive nature of them. But my friend Anna agreed to let me share a few images of her bridal boudoir session that took place at Cedarwood in Nashville.

When you say boudoir, the first thoughts that come to most are those of a girl half naked laying in a bed. And yes, while there are boudoir sessions like that- it is not what I love to do. My favorite sessions are bridal boudoir sessions. This is such a special time in a woman’s life and I think that it should be cherished and celebrated. The bride should be made to feel beautiful and loved, and that is the exact direction that I like to take with my sessions. I want to focus on the bride and her inner and outer beauty.

Wedding Day Boudoir

Being a woman myself, I know that it is hard to take time and focus on how beautiful you are. A lot of brides are hesitant to do an entire session that is devoted to this. And that is perfectly fine! Most women feel the most beautiful on the day they are getting married. So what better time than to slow down on your wedding day and take 15 minutes to photograph this special moment? I encourage you to consider having your photographer, and take a few images before you get in your dress. I promise that you will not regret it and one day you will look back on those images with love and a full heart knowing who beautiful you felt that day.

Corey + Olivia// Long Hollow Garden Winter Wedding

There are times when you meet couples you instantly know how amazing their wedding will be. And that couldn’t have been more true than with Corey and Olivia! Through our first meeting, the engagement session, correspondence and to the wedding day- they were truly amazing to work with! They trusted me and my my vision and I feel that is what led to these beautiful images of their wedding at Long Hollow Gardens!

We joked from the beginning that in Tennessee a December wedding might actually be on the warmer side. But of course on this particular Saturday, it decided to be really cold. But that didn’t matter to them. They were perfectly fine being a tad bit chilly so we could take advantage of the gorgeous property at Long Hollow Gardens. There is so much character and beauty ay this venue and it perfectly suited this couple and their wedding! The Farmhouse is a gorgeous bridal suite and is a photographer’s dream with it’s white walls, beautiful decor and lots of natural light.

Corey and Olivia decided to have their ceremony at Our Lady of the Lake Church, just down the road from Long Hollow Gardens. It was a wonderful and sweet ceremony. After the ceremony, we went back to Long Hollow Gardens for the reception. If you haven’t been here before, you need to check out their reception space! It is a greenhouse with gorgeous stone flooring, lots of beautiful greenery and chandeliers. Long Hollow Gardens is by far one of my favorite Nashville Wedding Venues!

Now that I have said so much about the wedding, here are some fun facts about Corey and Olivia! They shared all this info with me before their engagement session 🙂

How did you meet?: Corey and I have known one another for roughly 3 years. Corey began playing drums in my brothers band when my brother moved to Nashville, TN. We were always with someone else when we would met and never thought anything of it until my brothers wedding. We clicked at my brother and sister-in-laws wedding and from there we started talking and the rest is history :). Music brought us together.

Each of you describe each other in 5 words: Corey – crazy, lovable, intelligent, selfless, & down to earth Olivia – giving, artistic, innocent, original, hard headed

What are you most excited about for the wedding day?: Getting the family together and actually being able to start our life together with a celebration of our closest family and friends.

Stuart + Katie// Cordelle Wedding Romantic Fall Wedding

Stuart and Katie are one of the sweetest couples I have ever met. They are from Wisconsin, but love Nashville so much that they decided to have their wedding here at The Cordelle. They called me only about two months out, looking for a Nashville Wedding Photographer and fell in love with my work on Instagram!

Their relationship all started because their moms were in the same bible study (and had never met each other before) and they decided it would be a good idea to set them up. They went out to dinner and talked all night. He said that even though they are young, they know its right and love spending time together.

Stuart and Katie got married at the gorgeous Cordelle on a perfect fall day and everything was so beautiful. They each wrote notes to each other to be read before they walked down the aisle. You can see in the pictures that they were both deeply moved by the letters. They decided not to do a first look and save their first moment together, coming down the aisle. Stuart’s emotions when he saw Katie was so moving, it had me in tears. The way that the look at each other, you can tell that they are meant to be together. They are soul mates!

This couple and this wedding was so full of love and romance. Weddings like these remind me of why I love my job! I get to witness two people’s lives come together and all of the emotions that go along with it… the real, the romantic and the whimsical.

Joe + Chelsea// Nashville Engagement Session

Joe and Chelsea are such a fun loving couple and when you are around them you can’t help but smile! They are getting married next November at The Cordelle and I couldn’t be more excited about it! Fall is their favorite season, so it was only fitting that they had their Dengagement session then. We decided to meet downtown and get some casual shots at Riverfront Park and then head over to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, for their Nashville engagement session.

We had the best time laughing and embracing the downtown Nashville scene. I truly feel that these engagement pictures showcase this couple and their relationship perfectly… full of love, laughter and romance! Listed below are a couple of fun facts from their engagement questionnaire!

Each of you describe each other in 5 words: Chelsea describing Joe: hilarious, witty, smart, passionate, loving Joe describing Chels: One Hell Of A Catch

What is the one thing (beside each other) that each of you could not live without? Joe: Steak Chelsea: Our kitty, Stella, or my mom.

Tell me a little about yourselves! What are your hobbies, favorite things to do as a couple? What is your ideal date night?

Chelsea: I love organizing things. I wasn’t such a neat freak until Joe and I moved in together and now I have a space that I love, so organizing has become a huge hobby. I’ve been a little obsessed with wedding planning as of late too. Joe and I love going to different food festivals or art festivals on the weekends and we also love to dance, even though we’re not awesome at it. I like testing out new recipes and eating healthy, but also can’t stay away from sweets. My ideal date night is an amazing dinner (probably Two Ten Jack) mixed with great conversation

Joe: Sports, sneakers, good food, craft beer. As a couple, I love to go shopping together, try new restaurants, and laugh. I also love to go see movies even though Chels isn’t the biggest movie person. My ideal date night would be going dancing and then coming home and drinking wine and falling asleep watching garbage TV.

How long have you been together? Four years in October!

Randy + Katie// Nashville Wedding Photographer

I met Katie about two and a half years ago when she was the Speech Therapist for my daughter. From the moment I met her, I knew she was a special person. We have stayed connected over the years, even after my daughter stopped her visits with Katie. She always told me that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer when she got married. And sure enough, she did! I am so happy to be a part of their sweet and intimate wedding!!

She told me all about Randy and how wonderful of a person he was. He completely lived up to his reputation and is a fantastic guy and is the perfect man for Katie. The connection these two have with each other is truly special. You can see how much they love each other when they look at each other. You can can tell that they are best friends and have a strong connection.

There wedding was at a family friend’s house in Nashville. The house was amazing and the perfect backdrop for a fall wedding. Randy and Katie decided to keep the ceremony intimate and only invite their family and closest friends. After the ceremony the wedding guests arrived to the reception for cocktail hour and then a beautiful clear top tent. There was a live band, great food and lots of dancing! It was truly a magical night and a great start to a wonderful marriage!!!
